New for 2025 we will be exploring light! Because photography is at its core, is simply capturing light. The concepts we will be exploring wil transfer to any subject, but we will also be exploring the special challenges inherent in photographing reflective subjects.

In this workshop we’re going to explore six of the most popular lighting styles. Each week I will provide you with a photo challenge around one of these specific lighting styles.
We will be exploring the following:
- Soft Light
- Hard Light
- Colored Gels
- Backlighting
- Low or High Key

The skills you will learn in this workshop will transfer to any photographic subject. Plus, once you understand this core photo concepts, I’m sure your confidence in your own photo skills will rise!
Understanding lighting can feel overwhelming and complicated. But we’re going to break it down, and understand how to control the light through diffusion, bouncing, fill and gels. You will be able to explore lighting through the lens of continuous or off camera flash.
As the workshop progresses you will see how understanding lighting will help you tell better stories and connect with your audience.
