Introduction to Storytelling

If you loved Archetypes, Inside Out or the Idea Factory series, you’ll love Introduction Storytelling! This is where we put all the skills you’ve learned towards your own unique visual story.

In this six-week workshop we will explore the building blocks of storytelling:

  • Character
  • Location
  • Conflict
  • Climax
  • Closure

We will also be looking at:

  • The Hero’s Journey
  • Character Archetypes
  • Story Archetypes
  • Looking at how visual and written storytelling are similar and different.

You will leave this workshop with a greater understanding of how to:

  • Create a unique character
  • Design a visual language to describe your charector
  • Use stories to connect with your audience
  • Move through space and time using ‘closure’
  • Use your photography tools to influence your audience’s reaction

NEW for 2024! Every participant in any of my workshops will receive a one year membership to my Clubhouse! The Clubhouse is a casual and supportive gathering of toy loving photographers. We meet via Zoom once a month to share images, learn new techniques and connect.

“I was working on a 52 week photography project using the same toy which was my robot Zsolt. In this workshop I finished a 6 image narrative that was posted on Toyphotography.com. Im really happy how the series turned out. Plus my images of Zsolt were able to show his true feelings and that these showed in the photo.” – Barbara M
